A thoroughly enjoyable and very helpful experience. Lynne helped me to identify why I have confidence issues which enabled me to start to conquer them, and with Lynne’s help decide on the steps to take to improve this. I left the coaching feeling very positive and inspired, with the tools I need to move forward.

Thank you Lynne – I have to say that our coaching session felt like magical timing – and you are a funny fairy godmother!

I attended the Funny Women ‘Stand Up to Stand Out’ public workshop for a second time, so I knew a little of what to expect. However, I was struck by how well Lynne reacted, adapted and worked with a different venue, vibe and group of women. This isn’t just some PowerPoint presentation reheated for a dull meeting, this is creativity in action. We were encouraged to go outside our comfort zones, explore contrasting ideas and pinpoint where the magic happens. Encouragement defined the session: constructive criticism, busting the corrosive notion of ‘I can’t ‘ , distillation of ideas and gold dust advice for future work – whatever that may be. Lynne works on comedy with a surgeon’s skill. Highly recommended!

Lynne ran an excellent workshop for my HR team. We wanted to do some team building, get to know each other better and have some fun at the same time. The team really got stuck in and Lynne facilitated the session extremely well resulting in some great discussions which were very relevant to the workplace. They are still talking about it! I would highly recommend Funny Women.

We have used Lynne’s workshop for confidence, presentation skills and team building extensively for members of our Women’s Network. I have also attended public workshops and conferences where Lynne has run this session. Stand up to Stand Out is fast paced, fun and suitable for people of all levels of seniority and professional background. It offers practical skills that you can use straight away in your day job as well as being a great vehicle to get your delegates talking to each other.

Lynne delivered a fantastic workshop to a group of women from across the Civil Service. It felt liberating and allowed us to step away from the constraints of our day-to-day work. I’ve certainly taken to heart the message of really listening to my colleagues rather than just thinking about what I need to say.

Lynne Parker is a fabulous facilitator and communicator who came along to my Speakers Boot Camp to help my speakers understand how they could bring more humour into their talks. Lynne encouraged us all to let go our usual self-consciousness and our inhibitions when thinking about what we wanted to say. What the exercises revealed was that we are all funny and don’t really need to try that hard to deliver this. It is about being natural and looking at things from different perspectives. Keeping logic and our critical thinking out of the process. This liberated all of us and left us a lot less self-conscious. I am sure myself and my speakers will benefit greatly from Lynne’s influence bringing humour into our talks more freely. Thank you Lynne, can’t wait to do more work with you in the future.
Aly Harrold, Speakers Boot Camp
Everyone loved Lynne’s talk and she got the balance just right with some fun audience participation. I was really pleased with this first event to launch our women’s network at Mobeus Equity Partners and it was everything I had hoped for.

We briefed Lynne and Funny Women to deliver a workshop for our women’s network focusing on confidence in communication. The soft skills employed were fun and engaging and the opportunity to test the barriers of your comfort zone in a safe creative space are invaluable in business life. Highly recommended.

It has been great working with Lynne to offer our Girlguiding volunteers a unique opportunity to increase their confidence in public speaking and leadership skills. Everyone got really stuck in and even those who thought there was no way they could do some of the activities found that it was a space they could let their hair down! We had a real rollercoaster of emotions, many laughs but also time for reflection. Lynne really made the training relevant for our volunteers and they left energised and keen to use their learning to grow guiding. Jeannine Monk, one of the participants said “A perfect workshop to share and grow confidence. Laughter was the key to breaking barriers, Lynne brought out the best in us all.”
Divinia Hayes, Development Worker for Girlguiding London & South East England
Lynne is not only an amazing advocate for ‘funny women’ but definitely a positive force for all women in business looking to grow their confidence and develop their presentation personas. Her sessions were really enjoyed and though there was much laughter, most found them very thought provoking. For many women the opportunity to explore and share their experiences through ‘comedy’ was a real awakening, and things were learnt about one another that we could never have shared within any other circumstance. It was amazing to see women I never would have believed get on stage, perform to an audience and really enjoy doing so.

I was lucky enough to win a ‘Stand Up to Stand Out’ workshop from Funny Women in a raffle, which I took part in with 12 of my colleagues. Lynne was a fantastic facilitator, quickly turning nerves into laughter and taking us through exercises that got our creative juices flowing. It was a great experience I’d recommend to any team – we all left knowing each other much better, buzzing with ideas and with big smiles on our faces!

I made my stand-up comedy debut in 2013 by participating in Funny Women Challenge the Men. Lynne and her team made a daunting task less scary through excellent coaching, mentoring and support. I wasn’t just left to my own devices, their expert advice made a huge difference. I have recommended Funny Women to coach workplace teams interested in the idea of stand-up and I will continue to do so. Take yourself out of your comfort zone in the most comfortable way possible!
